The approach
Maria Guerra is a Portuguese interior designer working between Lisbon and Dubai. Every room gets one idea you would never have put in the brief, and then wouldn't want to live without.

I never wanted to design rooms that look good in a catalogue. I want rooms that look like the people who live in them, with one idea they would never have dared to ask for.
Every project starts here, on site, between bare walls and cables. That is where I listen, imagine and decide. A slide in the playroom, an onyx wall that glows, a chair that looks like a chessboard. I design each home myself, from the first visit to the last cushion, in Lisbon and in Dubai.
When a client walks in on reveal day and stays quiet for a few seconds, I know we got it right.
